Covenant first aired on Videon Cable TV in Winnipeg, as part of the Blender independent television series, produced by Video Pool, in 1996. Covenant explores the differences between traditional history and effective history in an attempt to reconcile an ancient biblical narrative. Traditional history searches sources, establishes continuity, finds resemblances and charts developments. The performance/video explores the idea of effective history as an alternative; charting ruptures and the fiction of unity as a locus for the myth of human history to become the vehicle of redemption.
