Distribution Focus

Video Pool Media Arts Centre is a non-profit, artist-run centre dedicated to the creation, exhibition and promotion of independent media art. We foster an innovative community of artists working in sound, video, computing and emerging technology art, while offering public exhibitions, artist talks and conferences to encourage awareness of and dialogue concerning new media art forms.

Our Distribution Department, which has been part of the organization since our inception in 1983, holds more than 2,100 titles representing around 500 Canadian artists, with works dating from the 1960s to today. Our catalogue includes video art, sound art, video installations and socially aware documentaries. The catalogue is made available for gallery exhibitions, screenings, sales to educational institutions and research purposes.

Video Pool Media Arts Centre is home to a temperature and humidity-controlled vault, where we preserve and care for the history of video and sound-based media art created in Manitoba and Canada.
