Synopsis

This video visually explores the microcosm of old rotting wallpaper in abandoned farm houses. During the “settling” of Saskatchewan, women were not qualified to obtain free homesteads from the government. Women channeled their personality into the home. Interior decorating in these houses reveals how the women wanted to be and how they wanted to be seen. This thin feminine substance, wallpaper, in its present abandoned state of disintegration evokes a sense of entropy of our goals and desires.
