Synopsis

This film recounts the transmission of an inheritance within a family, my family. It is not the transmission of material riches but the way in which the life of a parent can determine in their children choices which influence the construction of their identity.

The story of this ‘inheritance’ is built around the following elements: My father was an exile of Jewish origin, forced in 1938 to flee his country, leaving behind his family and his plans to become a doctor. He took refuge in France, met my mother and chose to fight in the Resistance. He then practised a sort of  pioneering, social medicine as an initiator into natural childbirth in the South of France.
