Oya Media Group is a Black women-led production company based in Toronto, Canada. In 2018, producer/directors Ngardy Conteh George of Mattru Media and Alison Duke of Goldelox Productions merged their companies to form Oya Media Group, a media production company focused on producing non-fiction television, non-fiction, and fiction digital content as well as 360 cinematic VR.
Our mission is to thrive in the Canadian and International media marketplace and contribute our voice to an underrepresented demographic, concentrating on new forms of socially relevant diverse content. Since its inception, OYA Media Group has won two Canadian Screen Award in 2020, (Best writing in a documentary and the Donald Brittain Award: Best Social/Political Documentary) for its inaugural documentary Mr. Jane and Finch, and numerous awards for the short drama, Promise Me, including the Winston M. Moxam award for best Canadian short at the Afroprairie Film Festival and standout writing at the Reelworld Film Festival.
