VUCAVU Welcomes Our New Digital Collections Assistant: Leon Alatif
It is with much pleasure that VUCAVU introduces Leon Alatif as its new Digital Collections Assistant!
Leon Alatif is a film production student at Concordia University in Montreal. He has worked as a piano teacher, lounge musician, dishwasher, as a scriptwriter at an animation studio in China and as a sound recordist. After graduation, he plans to continue his studies in computer science, law or psychology.
During his training, Leon wrote, directed and edited a number of experimental/narrative short films about mental illness. With an interest in marginalized characters fleeing the turmoil of a quest for identity, Leon believes that cinema is an essential means for allowing fixed personal narratives to soften and become flexible.
As a member of the VUCAVU team, Leon will assist with bilingual communication, marketing and web content management tasks. Leon's responsibilities as Digital Collections Assistant includes optimizing and creating new pages on the website's back-end, as well as developing VUCAVU's online presentation on social media and in its newsletters.
