VUCAVU welcomes Leon Alatif!
It is with great pleasure that VUCAVU announces Leon Alatif as our new Digital Collections Assistant!
Leon Alatif is a BFA student in Film Production at Concordia University, Montreal. He has worked as a piano teacher, a dishwasher, a lounge musician, a screenwriter for an animation studio in China, and a sound recordist. Following graduation, he is considering further studies in computer sciences, law, or psychology.
During his bachelor's degree, Leon wrote, directed, and edited a number of short experimental/narrative films concerning mental illness. Interested in marginalized characters who attempt to evade the confusion and the chaos of identity formation, Leon considers cinema a vital space whereby rigid self-narratives may be loosened and their course made more fluid.
As part of the VUCAVU team, Leon will assist with bilingual communications, marketing, and web content management tasks. Some of Leon's responsibilities as Digital Collections Assistant include optimizing and creating new pages on the back-end of the platform, as well as maintaining and building VUCAVU's online presence on social media and in its newsletters.
