Matthew van Ginkel is currently in Winnipeg, working on a variety of productions while creating his own ambitious projects. At the 19th annual Gimli Film Festival, Matthew won the RBC Emerging Filmmaker pitch to develop his film, "First Session", a short horror film about overcoming mental illness. A story heavily inspired by Matthew's upbringing with autism. After completing this important project, Matthew strives to direct his first feature film.
