Bio

Born in Brasília, Brazil (1986), Ana Vaz is a graduate of the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and Le Fresnoy – Studio National, she was also a member of SPEAP (experimental group in Art and Politics), a project conceived and directed by Bruno Latour. Recent screenings include New York Film Festival, TIFF Wavelenghts, Media City, Fronteira, Ann Arbor and Videobrasil. In 2015, she was awarded the Grand Prize for the international competition at Media City as well as Fronteira Film Festival for her film Occidente. She is the 2015 recipient of the Kazuko Trust Award presented by the Film Society of Lincoln Center in recognition of artistic excellence and innovation in her moving-image work.
