Bio

All the way from Wishart, Saskatchewan, Sheila Urbanoski is now based in London (not Ontario) after spending many years travelling to find the dirtiest, most expensive, gloomy, exciting city in the world. She is best known in Canada for her video and digital art projects in the country's vibrant media arts scene and was active for many years in artist run centres, arts advocacy and lobbying. Her performative pieces were mercifully poorly documented but remain legendary in Montreal and New York. Sheila is card-carrying geek that has been working online for so long she remembers being incredibly excited to add underlined links to her Mosaic SGML code and now works exclusively on web-based projects. She was instrumental in the production of dozens of other artists' works as a video editor and visual effects designer over the years and continues to mentor and assist other people in their work.
