Bio

Raphë is a queer Québécois artist working across performance, photography, and art-house film. Their image-based practice constructs striking visual tableaux that expose the contradictions of contemporary society through flamboyant buffoonery. Centred on the creation of hybrid personas shaped in tension with their environments, their work combines handcrafted costuming with a precise gestural language, often staged in derelict sites, terrains vagues, and post-industrial landscapes.

Recent works include the video-performance Tërra Bëstia (2022), distributed by the Canadian Filmmakers Distribution Centre, and the short film Dumpster Duchess (2025), co-directed with Liana Paré, which premiered at the Fantasia International Film Festival, received the Royal Photo Award for Best Cinematography in a Short Film, and is distributed by Groupe Intervention Vidéo.
