Bio

At the age of seven, Lorraine announced she would be a storyteller when she grew up and she has never looked back. Born in Santa Monica, California, and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Lorraine moved to Montreal in 2000 to pursue a joint honours BA in Creative Writing and English Literature at Concordia University, followed by an MA in Literary Translation.  Shortly after completing her MA, she switched storytelling gears—from literature to documentary film. Since then, Lorraine has directed one feature documentary, two TV documentaries, and one short. In 2017, she was selected to take part in a practical filmmaking workshop with Werner Herzog.
