Bio
Maya Ombasic is a novelist and filmmaker. She lived in many countries, is fluent in more then four languages and considers that she possesses several identities. She pays close attention to the links between literature, philosophy and cinema. While working on other projects, including a documentary on hurricanes in Cuba as well as her fourth book, in 2011, she directed the documentary The Salt Caravan. In the latter, she investigates how organic salt from Mauritania used to be an ocean some five thousand years ago. She hopes to cross the desert very soon in order to shoot the second part of the desert adventure.
