Bio

Urban denizen, traveller and Québecois at heart, Samuel Matteau uses his camera to add to his city's cultural effervescence and help build the Quebec of tomorrow. Recently, he was in Algeria working on El Djazaïr mon amour, a collective project modelled on lacite.tv, a series of urban tales that take viewers to Quebec City's various neighborhoods, seen through the singular impressionist vision of Samuel and his faithful artistic team. Such experiences have honed his innate feel for the medium of film and helped him develop his own way of conceptualizing, crafting and presenting images. His approach to the image makes him a young director on the rise but above all a humanist filmmaker.
