Bio

Nancy Marcotte studied anthropology before getting involved in independent video in 1980. After heading GIV from 1987 to 1990, she began working as a freelance content and archive researcher. Her most recent research credits include the documentaries The Price We Pay (directed by Harold Crooks) and Surviving Progress (directed by Harold Crooks and Mathieu Roy; executive producer Martin Scorsese). She currently chairs the board at GIV and is vice-president of the Visual Researchers' Society of Canada.
