After exploring the multiple possibilities of multimedia during her studies in communication, Iphigénie became interested in documentary filmmaking, working in just about every key position — director, producer, DOP, soundperson and editor. Since founding her own production company, Les glaneuses in 2004, she directed several short and two medium-length documentaries before this, her first feature-length documentary. Whatever the subject, her approach is informed by questions of cultural identity, community involvement, collective memory and access to culture. Long inspired by video activism, the filmmaker sees this form of creation as an essential means of expression and community involvement.
