Bio
Allyson Mitchell is a maximalist artist living in Toronto, Canada who creates visual art and installation with fun fur, found objects and abandoned crafts. She is a co-founder of the fat activist/performance group Pretty Porky and Pissed Off. Mitchell has produced many films and videos and collaborates frequently with fellow filmmaker Christina Zeidler as the film craft collective Freeshow Seymour. She is currently working on her dissertation about fat women, power and space and is teaching feminist activism at York University.
