Bio

Alexi Manis is an independent experimental filmmaker who works in the tradition of celluloid, splicers and spit.  Her short 16mm experimental films have screened at festivals and events worldwide.  They consist of found footage, home movies, projected and re-photographed imagery, optically printed fiascos and the sketches, paintings and music of artist friends.  Her most recent film, Shutter, features live 16mm footage of the 1981 total solar eclipse documented by amateur astronomer Andreas Gada.
