Bio

Originally from Canada, Sandra Lim completed a practice based PhD in Art and Design from the University of Brighton in 2013, researching into the documentary potential of early British Structural-Materialist films, and the possibilities of the avant-garde film methods of formative filmmakers Le Grice and Gidal, for decoding the sensory, subjective/objective and affective dimensions of urban and everyday experience. This culminated in a study of the London Underground during the period of the terrorist attacks in 2005. She was mentored and assessed in this project by pioneer British Avan-garde film and video artists Mick Hartney, and Malcolm Le Grice.
