Bio

“Silvestar Kolbas (1956, Petrovci) is a photographer, cinematographer and director. He grew up in Vinkovci, and graduated film and TV cinematography in 1982 from the Zagreb Academy of Dramatic Art. Today, he is a full-time professor at the same institution. He tutored at many film workshops and courses (Croatian Film Clubs’ Association’s Summer School of Media Culture, different festivals and film clubs). He has exhibited photographs, published and edited essays about cinematography, made several fiction and TV films, serials and documentary films. He directed documentary films All About Eve (2003), 20 Days in Tibet (2011), The War Reporter (2011), Self Portrait V2.1 (2012). In his documentary and experimental films and photo exhibitions he takes an autobiographical starting point, but also analyses visual media.” – 25 FPS Festival
