    Eldorado

    • 1995
    • Simon Hughes

Lavish sets and outdated television technologies add to the drama of this postcolonial retelling of a timeworn myth of pillage and adventure. A brave conqueror, a pious bishop and their faithful ass, embark on a quest for gold. They encounter a tumultuous, swirling sea, a fearsome pagan priestess, bizarre and ghastly religious rites, a jungle of man-eating plants, a smoldering volcano and the dreaded “Anus of Woe”.
