Bio

Les Fermières Obsédées (FO), a collective founded by visual artists Annie Baillargeon and Eugénie Cliche, instils performance art with a sense of anarchy. Through its multidisciplinary sound-and-visual performances linking symbolic and metaphorical images, FO has developed a language combining tragedy and comic burlesque. In recent years, the collective has explored juxtaposing dance, theatre, music and visual arts onstage. Other collaborators include Marie-Hélène Tremblay (pianist), Audrey Laframboise (tuba) and Isabelle Lapierre (visual arts). FO has performed since 2001 at various festivals and events in Quebec and Canada as well as internationally.
