Bio
Karen Cornelius graduated from Moore College of Art in Philadelphia. She grew up in Congo and Kenya and lived in Eritrea exposed to vibrant local art and culture, but during politically volatile times. She has exhibited nationally and internationally and participated in artist residencies in Africa, China, Europe and North America. In her video work she uses repetitive revelatory gesture to explore the narrative imbedded in human experience. She seeks to reconcile our human desire for certainty and order with the uncertainty of experience.
