After his filmmaking studies at the Université de Montréal (1999-2002), Simon Beaulieu directed his first documentary, entitled Lemoyne (2005), about the quebecois painter Serge Lemoyne. In 2011, he completed Godin, a feature film about Gérald Godin, poet, politician and an influential figure in contemporary Québec. A hit with critics and audiences, the film garnered numerous awards.With this, his third feature, Miron : a man returned from outside the world, Simon Beaulieu furthers his reflection on the people of Quebec and their collective destiny, in a political and cultural context.
