Bio

Kerry Barber is Tr’ondek Hwech’in from Dawson City, Yukon. She was nominated for Best Female Director at the 2018 Whistler Film Festival, and won the Jury Prize at the Breakthroughs Film Festival in Toronto for her film, Dear Hatetts. She graduated from the Emily Carr University of Art and Design with a BFA in Film, Video, and Integrated Media. She programs Indigenous films for the Yukon Film Festivals, and is currently developing new film and writing projects. In her art, she is interested in discovering accessible and compelling ways of presenting serious subject matter.
