Bio

In summer 2006, Émilie Baillargeon embarked on a project to make 10 documentary shorts that took her across Québec. Since then, she has dedicated herself to video creation, taking part in various projects, collaborating repeatedly and becoming involved in the filmmaking community. In works that draw heavily on the documentary genre, she explores destabilizing contexts, constantly adjusting to keep up with the very human pacing imposed by the form. She feels comfortable in the role of the observer who stays quietly in the background, the better to highlight the subject. In this spirit, she tries to have her work leave traces, fugitive witnesses of the moment.
