Bio

Originally from Winnipeg, Kris Anderson spent her 20s and 30s as a mother, activist, community event planner and video / film maker. Among the events where she played a pivotal role, were the Canadian Women's Music + Cultural Festival and Vice Versa Lesbian Film Festival. After leaving Winnipeg in 1996, she founded Vancouver's DOXA Documentary Film Festival, Western Canada's largest documentary festival. After twelve years running DOXA, Anderson moved to Vancouver Island in 2011 and is currently the Executive Director of the Campbell River Public Art Gallery, a contemporary visual arts gallery on the north island. She lives in Black Creek.
