Bio
Gisele Amantea is an artist whose work uses materials and formats drawn from popular culture, such as flock, graphic narrative, commercial film and sound to explore questions related to women, class, nostalgia, history and memory. Born in Calgary, she has lived in Montreal since 1995 where she teaches in the Studio Arts Department at Concordia University. She has exhibited widely in Canada and internationally.
