Diyan Achjadi's prints and animations deploy a pop-cartoon aesthetic to examine the ways that militarism, violence, and natural disasters are depicted in popular media.  Achjadi received a BFA from the Cooper Union (New York, NY, 1993) and an MFA from Concordia University (Montreal, QC, 2002). Born in Jakarta, Indonesia, she currently lives in Vancouver and teaches print media in the Faculty of Visual Arts and Material Practice at Emily Carr University.
