They Met In A Garden is an exploration and analysis of the archetypal romantic love story. It attemps to understand each element of a romance by examining the contents of each part of the plot with a macro lens: 1) the lovers meet in a setting which shows their relationship to be “natural” and beautiful 2) they participate in a festival celebrating their love in a social context 3) they are separated violently (here a frenetic chase provides comic relief) 4) they mourn each other’s loss, thinking that they will never see each other again 5) they are reunited for an erotic climax. In this video the complete love epic is condensed into ten minutes of minute detail.
