Franz Milec (*1993, Zilina, Slovakia) is a multimedia artist and filmmaker based in Prague, Czech Republic. His work focuses on contemporary media, spectacle, and travel, while avoiding their usual tropes. He usually works with publicly available data and footage, and he almost exclusively uses open-source technologies, often programming his own tools for producing sound and visuals. Milec’s films and artworks have been screened and exhibited in the United States, Germany, Austria, Norway, Poland, Czech Republic, and Slovakia.
