Bio

Davyd Tousignant studied Communications at the Université de Montréal. He worked as a journalist and host in several TV channels and media in Quebec, France and Africa. 

As a filmmaker, he directed several documentaries and fiction shorts, including one for UNESCO.

In 2008, he covered the United Nations' Millennium Development Goals in West Africa realizing a series of ten television reports. In recent years, he was part of international cooperation projects in Congo, South Africa, Cuba, Senegal, Mali and Mauritania.

Since 2009, he directs films with Tomi Grgicevic. Their first feature documentary Simplement... nous was selected at the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma 2010, their second film En attendant Charlot at the Rendez-vous du cinéma québécois 2011, and  « Survivre et vivre » at Festival des Films du Monde 2011 and also at Rendez-vous du cinéma québécois 2012..

He also works as an actor.
