Bio

Isabella Sumner was a Little Saskatchewan First Nation (LSFN) Anishinaabe educator. Isabella stayed in LSFN, despite the evacuation, to ensure the youth and family remaining in the community had supports and educational programming throughout the 7 years of evacuation. Isabella died suddenly in 2019 at 59 years of age, from the unhealthy environment created by the flood (mould, stress, lack of health services, etc.). Isabella is dearly missed by her family, friends and community. We hope this film furthers her dream to rebuild a safe and healthy community and provide a voice for youth.
