Bio

Nik Forrest is an interdisciplinary artist based in Tio’tia:ke/Montreal. They hold an MFA in open media from Concordia University (1995) and are currently a PHD candidate in Concordia’s Interdisciplinary Humanities program (2025). Their experimental videos, installations and sound projects have been shown at festivals, artist run centres and museums across Canada and internationally including: The Joliette Art Museum (Joliette, 2023), The Listening Biennale (Berlin, 2021), Latitude 54 (Edmonton, 2018), Oboro (Montreal, 2018), and Kunsthalle Mulhouse (France, 2019). They have also been awarded artist’s residencies in Paris, Buenos Aires, Hamburg, Winnipeg and Saskatoon. Their recent projects explore sound and listening as non-binary relational fields where emergence, mutation and interdependence can be sensed.
