VUCAVU is very happy to welcome Matt Dueck to our team as Digital Collections Assistant!

Matt Dueck is a graduate of the masters of Film Studies program at Carleton University. He is particularly interested in the cinema of space and borders, as well as representations of disability in media. He hopes to continue to work within the world of Canadian independent cinema. He is excited to be a part of the VUCAVU team and help to highlight the robust media communities that we serve.

Matt's role at VUCAVU will focus on maintaining our web platform, supporting our relationships with our Content Providers and Programming Partners, keeping our social media up to date, as well as pursuing his personal interests in curation within our extensive catalogue.

Matt has been privileged to grow up on Treaty No. 1 Territory, the traditional lands of the Anishinabe (Ojibway), Ininew (Cree), Oji-Cree, Dene, and Dakota, and is the Birthplace of the Métis Nation and the Heart of the Métis Nation Homeland. He is also grateful for his time studying in Ottawa on the traditional, unceded territories of the Algonquin nation.

Matt smiles at the camera, he has a red beard and headphones hang around his neck.
